Phoenix, Arizona is the hub or command center for IBuyers and many tech startups. OpenDoor started here about 5 years ago and began a revolution offering another option for the homeseller. Since then, the marketplace has seen so many others try to compete with them; such as OfferPad, Zillow, and blah blah blah and iblah.
Most Realtors have an opinion of these devils, I mean IBuyers, and usually it’s a negative one. Usually it’s based out of fear because they are concerned their business will suffer.
A quick history or background. What is an IBuyer? Whether the I stands for Internet, Institution or whatever-they are a cash investor/buyer.
This video isn’t really about my opinion of them. It’s about you, the homeowner knowing your options and understanding them and some recent fake news.
A title company was given an app to hand out to its marketing reps. Some of those reps either didn’t know what they were entering or didn’t check what they entered as what it came back with was a bunch of highly misleading false data and fake news. And no my issue is not with the app.
Is everything out there accurate? Of course not. But when you go to sell your home if you can receive a cash offer, letting you move on your terms and not have to deal with showings of your home, shouldn’t you know about it? The answer is yes. Not be swayed by something with incorrect data saying you’ll have thousands of dollars in repairs, and not receive a full market value offer.
